Arguably the best side in the game, Terrans bost a wide variety of units and structures, from the immense Battlecruiser to the subtle and mysterious ghosts. This side plays the most like your conventional "Command and Conquer" type force, with good vehicles and stout infantry, and so are the automatic choice for beginning players. Try a few of the following tactics:
The Creeping Advance: Seige tanks set in seige mode have immense firepower that is almost unequalled in Starcraft. Also, a carefully managed Terran side will have the ability to field these units in large numbers. Therefore the correct deployment of Seige Tanks becomes extremely important.
One thing to note is that a shot from a Seige tank can often destroy units immediately, especially the weaker Zerglings. They do however have two major weaknesses: firstly, that they cannot shoot at flying units and secondly that they cannot shoot at very close targets.
With this in mind it is vital that the Terran player employs some tactics to defend his tanks from the enemy. Marines are perfect for the job of guarding these units, as they're cheap, can shoot flyers and in large numbers can cause huge damage to advancing units.
However, no amount of marines is going to stop that marauding Ultralisk from reaching your tanks and turning them into confetti. I have found that employing the following tactic can often increase your tanks lifetime:
Build three seige tanks and then advance toward the enemy. Before you get into seige range, place on of the tanks in seige mode. Then deploy the other two in seige mode slightly in front. The enemy will soon respond to their attacks and head toward these two front tanks. If the fire from these two front tanks doesn't stop them, once they close in the third tank will open up and blast enemies while they attack the front line. This tactic can also be used in reverse to create a tactical retreat!
